This was the ninth international conference on CFD organised by the ICFD (Institute for Computational Fluids Dynamics), a joint research organisation at the Universities of Oxford and Reading. The aim of the conference, as in previous years, was to bring together mathematicians, engineers and other scientists in the field of computational fluid dynamics to review recent advances in mathematical and computational techniques for modelling fluid flows.
Invited Speakers:
Andrew Barlow (AWE Aldermaston)
Luca Formaggia (Milan)
Mohamed Iskandarani (Miami)
Peter Jimack (Leeds)
Dominique R Laurence (Manchester)
Len Margolin (Los Alamos)
Matthew Piggott (Imperial)
Phil Roe (Michigan)
Chi-Wang Shu (Brown)
Andrew Stuart (Warwick)
John Thuburn (Exeter)
Stéphane Zaleski (LMM)
These speakers have a wide range of experience in different areas of CFD. Techniques discussed included adaptive meshes, environmental applications and novel numerical algorithms for CFD
In addition to invited lectures the programme included contributed talks of twenty minutes and poster sessions. There were no parallel sessions.

Call for Papers
The call for papers was vastly over
subscribed. In addition to the invited speakers,
5 papers were chosen for
the special Bill Morton Prize session, together with
41 contributed oral
presentations and 70 posters.
The Bill Morton Prize
A feature of the meeting was the fifth
award of “The Bill Morton Prize” for a paper on CFD by a young (under the age of
31 on 29 March 2007) research worker. The 5 finalists presented their papers in
a special session of the conference, the prize being awarded to Matthias Möller.
Location
The conference was held at the University of Reading in the Madejski Theatre, Agriculture Building, Earley Gate, Whiteknights Campus. The venue provided at atmosphere conducive to informal discussion and exchange of information outside the lecture sessions.
Lying in the heart of the Thames Valley, just 60km west of London, Reading offers the best of town life with the peace of some of England's finest countryside. It is not a place that rests on its history and while it boasts the remains of one of England's largest and richest abbeys, the burial place of Henry I and a heritage dating back to Roman times, it accommodates its modernity with ease.
